Ruckus R650 - Indoor Access Point

The RUCKUS® R650 Access Point (AP) features the latest Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 ax) technology to deliver greater capacity, better coverage and performance in dense environments. The R650 is our mid-range access point for dual-band parallel operation, supporting 6 spatial streams (4x4:4 at 5GHz, 2x2:2 at 2.4GHz). The R650 supports peak data rates of up to 2974 Mbps and can efficiently manage up to 512 client connections. In addition, 2.5GbE Ethernet ensures that the backhaul does not become a bottleneck to fully utilize the available Wi-Fi capacity.

Additionally, wireless needs within the enterprise are expanding beyond Wi-Fi, with BLE, Zigbee, and many other non-Wi-Fi wireless technologies leading to network silos. Enterprises need a unified platform to eliminate network silos. The Ruckus family of access points addresses these challenges.

The R650 has a built-in IoT radio with onboard BLE and Zigbee capabilities. Additionally, the R650 is a converged access point that allows customers to seamlessly integrate any new wireless technology with pluggable IoT modules.

In addition to Wi-Fi 6 features such as OFDMA, MU-MIMO, and TWT, the R650 also features several Ruckus patented technologies. The R650 is ideal for medium-density deployments such as office buildings, K-12 classrooms, libraries, and retail spaces.

  • The R650 access point can be accessed via Ruckus'BeamFlex+Adaptive Antenna dynamically selects in real-time among numerous antenna patterns to create the best connection with each device. This function can:

    • Improve Wi-Fi situation
    • Reduce radio frequency interference

    Traditional omnidirectional antennas used in common access points would radiate RF signals in all directions in vain, oversaturating the network environment. In contrast, Ruckus BeamFlex+Adaptive antennas can direct each device's radio signal on a packet-by-packet basis to optimize Wi-Fi coverage and capacity in real time to support network environments with high device densities.BeamFlex+No device feedback is required at runtime, so even legacy standard devices can benefit from it.
